Midsummer Night Swing

As someone who wasn't born until the 80's, I probably shouldn't have had as much fun at the Loser's Lounge night as I did last Friday! The band was awesome, and everyone else seemed to think so too. =) I headed over to Loser's Lounge MySpace to tell them they have a new fan, and I came across these comments from others who were at Swing on Friday:

1) Hope you guys and gals had a great time because we sure did. We are regulars at Midsummer Night's Swing and dance year round 3-4 nights a week. I have to say you guys were great. This was really the first time MSNS had a full band on disco night - it's usually alot of dj music.Celia and I totally loved dancing to your live music. Hopefully, we can find the next gig you have where dancing is permitted. You guys rock -that said from my better half, Celia - the orginal disco queen!
Jerry
P.S. we are also writting MSNS to let them know how great you were and hopefully they'll have you back next year.

2) Thank you so much Losers Lounge gang, for a FANTASTIC show at Lincoln Center Midsummer Nt's Swing, Hustle/Disco Night. I am a huge hustle fan and dance there every year for the last 10 years and you were the best band there --and best disco band in NYC--ever! I was raving about you all weekend to everyone I knew and everyone dancing that night was raving about you too. The crowd was having such an extra fun and positive, happy time at Lincoln Center that night because you guys were so excellent... they rarely have a band recreate the classic 70s disco and instead just have a taped recording of the music that someone (even a disco celeb) sings to...but many times my friend and I thought the dj was playing an original 70s song on cd...and it was you guys singing and playing it live! I thought it was impossible to create those sounds without work in a
studio and that's why one never sees a band playing those songs...so you amazed me...and seemingly most of NYC!
Thanks for a memorable event. I have to sign up for your newsletter but have to figure out if I remember my Yahoo email.
Sincerely,
Lynn
kid from the 70s and hustle dancer now

PS I hope you play NYC dance events more often and go back to Lincoln Center's hustle night next year! I'm bringing more friends then!
lynn

3) Joe!
I think that was the best executed/engineered live show I ever heard. when set 2 opened w/the Hustle i had to come closer to make sure they weren't playing the record. the horns and strings OMG. esp. the flute and the trumpet. i'm coming to Burt B every night. you rock!
Peace,
Ron

I'm with Jerry, Celia, Lynn and Ron! I'll be back next year if Loser's Lounge comes back -- and I'm bringing friends!
